How-To Customize your Cloak Mod OWB Holster
How to Use and Adjust Your Cloak Mod OWB Paddle Holster
The following steps guide you through the process of swapping the paddle and belt slide attachment, as well as adjusting the cant (angle) on your Cloak Mod OWB Holster. The paddle holster is a great option for those looking for a quick and easy on and off gun holster. If you prefer to wear your OWB paddle holster on your gun belt, try out the belt slide attachment. To wear the belt slide holster, simply thread your belt through the attachment. For the paddle holster, just slide the attachment into your waistline. Please note that customizing your Cloak Mod OWB holster will require a complete disassembly of the product.
1. Let’s start with the shell.
Remove the flathead screws and washers attaching the holster shell with the Allen Key provided in your parts pack. Once you’ve detached the holster shell, remove the four black spacers underneath it. Set these parts aside for now.
2. Let’s take out the innards.
Once your gun holster shell is removed, take off the rubber retention membrane and the steel flex plate. Set these parts aside for now.
WARNING: Handle steel flex plate with care—it’s sharp.
3. Detach your paddle or belt slide attachment.
Unscrew the paddle or belt slide attachment from the rigid nylon backer. Set this aside for now.
4. Choose your angle.
The angle of both the paddle or belt slide attachments can be set from 0 to 15 degrees in either direction to achieve your preferred cant. Follow the directions on the nylon backer to relocate the appropriate weld nuts. NOTE: The belt slide requires 2 additional weld nuts (4 total).
5. Fasten your attachment.
Now that you’ve chosen your holster cant, use the cap screws to attach your paddle or belt slide to the rigid nylon backer.
NOTE: If you plan to wear the belt slide with a thicker gun belt, add a belt slide spacer to each set of cap screws. Place the belt slide spacer between the belt slide attachment and the nylon backer.
6. Let’s put it all together.
Locate your steel flex plate and place it onto the rigid nylon backer. Allow the four weld nuts to protrude through all four holes. You may find it easier to work with two weld nuts at a time on one side.
7. Almost there…
Hook the lip of the retention membrane over the top of the nylon backer. Now press the retention membrane over the four exposed weld nuts to secure it in place.
8. Let’s make some space.
Replace the four black spacers onto the exposed weld nut heads. Apply downward pressure while twisting in order to secure the spacers.
9. Replace your holster shell.
Place the holster shell on top of the black spacers – be sure to align the four holes.
10. The finishing touches.
Secure the holster shell with the four washers and flathead screws you set aside earlier. Tighten to your preferred retention level.
