Glock 19 Modular Holster Kit

There may be no more versatile handgun than the Glock 19...but not too many Glock 19 holsters deliver the same versatility. It's a wildly popular gun good for concealed carry and open carry. However, for both purposes, you'd need at least two holsters. Until now. The ShapeShift Glock 19 holster is compatible with all generations of Glock pistols, including Gen 5.

The ShapeShift holster by Alien Gear is no mere holster - it's a complete carry system. If you carry your pistol in more than one manner, which the Glock 19 is very well suited to, then this Glock 19 carry holster system is definitely suited to your purposes.

We spent two years designing the ShapeShift, with an eye on durability, security and modularity. The core of the ShapeShift is the injection-molded shells, made from a hyper-durable polymer that is nearly indestructible in the course of normal wear. There are two half-shells - left and right - and two trigger guards, one set up for standard half-shell carry and the other pre-setup for belt slide carry.

The shells - of either size - lock together without tools, using a friction-locking rail and a twist lock to close together. Once fastened, they won't come part.

Along with the shells, we also include two backing pads - one large and one small - and three different belt attachments. For use with the backing pads, lock one full shell together and one of the half shells, then use the locking rail to attach to the backer.

From there, it's up to you to choose how you wish to carry.

If a traditional Glock 19 IWB holster is to your liking, attach a full shell and half shell and mount to the larger backer. The backers are made from the same materials as our Cloak Tuck 3.0 IWB holster, so those who have carried one before will recognize it immediately. Just like the 3.0, the belt clips are fully adjustable for ride height and grip cant.

However, you can attach the same shell configuration to the smaller backer and use the larger belt clip to assemble a Glock 19 appendix carry holster, for those who prefer to carry IWB in this position.

The 19 also happens to be well suited to outside the waistband concealment, and the smaller backer can be used as a hybrid OWB by attaching the belt slide clips. This will ride high and tight to the body in utter comfort, in case you prefer a Glock 19 OWB holster that's easily concealed under an untucked shirt or light outerwear.

For open carry, woods carry or use at the range, you can also assemble both clam shells and insert the paddle attachment, giving you a Glock 19 paddle holster as well.

Besides the varied configurations, adjustable retention is also built into the ShapeShift. There are three included retention bars for use with the trigger guard shells, giving the wearer light, medium or heavy passive retention. We also include a thumb release and finger lock, which can be deployed in the paddle configuration to give you close to Level III retention.

Along with the outstanding range of use, you also get Alien Gear's Iron Clad Guarantee, which includes both a 30-day "Test Drive" trial period - during which you can return the holster for a refund if unsatisfied - and a lifetime warranty. Should anything go wrong with the holster, we will fix any issue or replace the holster outright regardless of how the issue arose for as long as you own it.

This could be the last holster that you ever need. Are you ready for a whole new form of carry?

The ShapeShift Modular Holster System is patent pending.

Not happy Review by disappointed

Very disappointed with the comfort of the IWB/OWB holsters. To bulky, and very noticeable unless you're wearing a jacket. I tried every configuration supplied and all were uncomfortable and bulky. Every time I sat down or stood up I had to readjust the holster (IWB&OWB) just to find a spot that was less uncomfortable. I position the holsters in many different spots, but none worked or made me feel comfortable. I bought these for my SIG P365, which is a small carry gun. Direction were a little confusing and not up to date (color would help), but once I figured it out, still wasn't satisfied. I contacted customer support and was given a return slip to fill out, which I did and sent back for a refund. That cost me $20 to ship back; Alien should stand behind their product and send me a prepaid mailing label. (Posted on 12/28/2020)

Very comfortable and well made Review by Trucker Tim

As a flatbed truck driver I do a lot of load securement, so I'm always lifting, bending, climbing, squatting and twisting. Very physical work! I'm also sitting in the driver's seat for hours at a time. I sometimes put in 12-14 hour days. I tried a bunch of different holsters I borrowed from my NRA training instructor but couldn't find anything I really liked. My buddy Brian (a longtime CCW holder whose advice re:firearms I always trust) showed me his Shapeshifter holster and told me to look at Aliengear. I ordered one and I've been wearing my IWB Shapeshifter with my Walther PPS M2 for a couple months now. It's so comfortable I hardly notice it. It has a very smooth draw, stays very secure, doesn't dig into my side and provides excellent concealment. I wore it for a whole day running errands with my wife and she couldn't tell I was carrying. I wore right out of the box without having to do any adjustments. Excellent holster, best I ever had! Highly recommend it. (Posted on 12/20/2020)

Great holster so far! Review by Kelly

I just received my order today (the Shape Shift Core Carry Pack), and have tested it out with both my 1911 and my M&P .40. I love the comfort I have when sitting, standing or walking with the IWB holster. My only complaint is that the belt clips are just a little TOO secure, making it extremely difficult to remove the holster without taking off my pants and detaching the clip from the IWB pad before I can take the clip off of the belt. Other than that, I am very happy with my purchase so far. As soon as I get my license to carry, I will be testing it out every time I leave the house, getting more comfortable with it and figuring out exactly how I want it positioned to properly conceal and still function well if I ever need to draw my weapon. good but not perfect Review by Adam

I recently received shapeshift core carry pack after about 3 weeks after placing an order. The packaging is very impressive and well organized, which was unexpected. Due to the flexible nature of the kit, there are quite a few parts included in the box, some small and some tiny. The plastic appears for the half shells to be sturdy and pieces fit together ok except the small twist locks are a bit of a challenge due to their size and the manufacturing tolerances. On the IWB pad stitching was not perfect and threads were loose that I trimmed myself.

I am not a big guy, 5'7" about 165lb with 32 inch waist so the only workable config for my CCW, became IWB setup. My pistol is Glock 48, so the appendix option is just too bulky and takes too much space up front near the belt buckle. It does not offer enough adjustability to make it work for me. The clip sticks out a bit far so I did not really like that. I also tried OWB holster configurations, and I liked the features and retention, however the geared swivel quick release mechanism keeps the gun and the holster about half an inch from the body which again proves a bit too bulky. It is possible to remove the the pivot quick connect setup , and bolt the full holster to the belt clip, which I preferred more. The only other comment I wanted to add, is that only IWB configuration has adjustable ride height. All the other setups are pretty much fixed with some tilt tweaks possible. I am also a little concerned that the retention tabs can mar the finish on the trigger guard after repeated use, especially on the polymer pistols, if made too tight.

In summary, the comfort for all the setups proved to be good, just the size and bulkiness can be a hindrance for smaller folks. The kit provides a lot of options, but will require some significant trial and error to find the config that works best for you. (Posted on 11/17/2020)

I've worn the IWB holster from the Core pack several hours a day for over 4 months before writing this review. From fit to features, comfort to quality I've not found a better holster for my needs. The versatility to change modes when needed is terrific and very easy. I'm ordering additional products and don't hesitate to recommend Aliengear. (Posted on 11/9/2020)
The Quality Isn't What it Once Was Review by TWS 607

I bought the Shape Shift Core Carry Pack based on my experience with a Shape Shift IWB holster that I purchased for another gun a few years back. I still have and use that holster and it is one of the best holsters that I have. The Core Carry Pack that I purchased this past summer is horrible. quality. It took Alien Gear about 4 weeks to ship my holster out because they were so far behind manufacturing their products, I do not believe there was any quality control in the process. It is very difficult to slide my gun into the holster and removing it as well. I have adjusted the tension to the point that it is at the least amount without the shell falling off. I paid a lot of money for the Core Carry Pack and I am very unhappy with it. I do not recommend this product. (Posted on 11/8/2020)
Fantastic option for those figuring out how they want to carry Review by Nick

I bought this holster after I had gotten my concealed carry license, and I wasn't sure how I would want to carry. This is more expensive than any single holster option, but given that I wanted to experiment with a variety of carry positions, it is FAR cheaper than buying even just two dedicated holster options.

I'm very happy with the fit and comfort, and changing configurations is pretty simple, made even easier with the included instructions (I recommend you look through them at least once).

FWIW, I settled on appendix carry, and I can confirm that this holster is quite comfortable in that configuration. (Posted on 11/8/2020)
