SUMMARY
The Quality/Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the production of high-quality products that meet customer expectations and company standards. This involves a multifaceted approach that includes developing and implementing quality control procedures, collaborating with production teams to troubleshoot issues, and actively participating in the product development cycle by providing valuable feedback and insights. The Quality/Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with both production and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement, enhance efficiency, and maintain a safe working environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
Quality Control and Assurance:
· Develop and implement quality control procedures and documentation, including inspection plans, test methods, and quality metrics.
· Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
· Analyze quality data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and areas for improvement in the manufacturing process.
· Lead and participate in root cause analysis investigations using techniques such as 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, design of experiments, and Pareto analysis.
· Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot quality issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence of defects.
· Support ISO:9001
Manufacturing Process Improvement:
· Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process flowcharts.
· Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality, increase efficiency, and reduce manufacturing costs.
· Support purchasing with technical interaction with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components.
Product Development Collaboration:
· Actively participate in product design reviews and provide feedback from a manufacturing and quality perspective.
· Identify potential manufacturing challenges and quality risks early in the design phase.
· Contribute to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) initiatives to optimize product design for manufacturability and quality.
· Collaborate with the product development team to ensure smooth transition of new products from design to production.
ISO 9001 Certification:
· Direct contributor to the company's efforts to achieve and maintain ISO 9001 certification.
· Support development and implementation of a Quality Management System (QMS) that meets the requirements of ISO 9001.
· Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with the QMS and identify areas for improvement.
· Manage and coordinate external audits with certification bodies.
· Provide training and guidance to employees on ISO 9001 requirements and quality management principles.
Continuous Improvement and Safety:
· Stay up-to-date on industry best practices, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
· Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
· Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Hands on experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.
· Ability to be a self-starting engineer and feel comfortable in a dynamic agile working environment.
· Strong technical and non-technical communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work on fast paced, high quality, and iterative agile projects.
· Strong technical decision-making skills.
· Proven success with qualifying concepts delivered to manufacturing.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
· A bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related subject required.
· Must obtain Tedder Industries Gun Safety Certification before working in this department.
TEAMWORK
· This position has the unique role of interacting directly with multiple departments and will be required to separate quantitative and qualitative information when communicating and reporting findings.
· Direct interaction with manufacturing personnel to better understand manufacturing challenges, processes, and quality related aspects.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing 25 pounds. Manipulating parts, equipment, and machinery may also be required depending on role.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role will see equal time working in a standard office setting, and production area.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
