Ruger LC380 Drop Leg Holster

This product does not include Mag Buckets.

For the occasions when you'd rather open carry than conceal, a Ruger LC380 drop leg holster is perhaps the most ideal method of carry. It's more comfortable than OWB carry to a lot of people and you aren't going to find a more convenient holster for use at the range.

Would be a nice touch if you could also attach a mag carrier or two to an LC380 leg holster.

But if you look, there aren't too many decent LC380 drop thigh holsters out there. Bad ""universal"" designs with no retention unless you want a thumb break. Reholstering isn't going to be easy and that can't inspire too much confidence while carrying.

Why settle for such a thing if you don't have to? A better LC380 thigh holster is out there, and you don't even need to leave the galaxy to find it - just find Alien Gear.

We can get you that better holster.

Our thigh rig base is made from our proprietary polymer blend, nearly indestructible under normal conditions. You also won't have to worry about any strapping; the heavy-duty straps will carry comfortably and securely, with no need to cinch down the thigh straps until your toes go numb.

As to retention, the thigh rig easily and securely docks with our ShapeShift OWB holster. Since the ShapeShift is injection molded, it fits the LC380 and only the LC380. Many users find the passive retention of the holster itself is sufficient, but you can still dial it in until your desired setting is reached. You can even add an active retention device if you wish.

Our Ruger LC380 drop leg holster is also compatible with the Cloak Mod paddle holster as well.

Cant angle is also adjustable, and you may notice the additional docking tabs. Those are for mag carriers, as the Cloak Mag Carriers - both single and dual mag carriers - can be attached as well. You get to carry your gun and up to four spare magazines at once.

Not too many thigh holsters out there that will let you do that.

But what if you don't like it? That's okay - we give 30 days after getting the holster to wear it and see if you're happy with it. If not, return it within that time frame for a full refund.

We also warranty the holster for life. IF you can damage it.

You could get any thigh holster...but why not get a Ruger LC380 drop leg holster that you can really use?

Great product, only thing I think they should address is the the straps end,not the strap strength but where u tighten towards the end half attached Bungie not What I expect but everything else is exceptional and I would recommend it but find a new strap tightener, just food for thought. This is the best customer service I have ever experienced. Called because I had just received my holster a couple weeks ago and the thumb release button seemed to not be functioning right. No questions asked they sent me another one that arrived the next day! Called around 4pm and the new holster was delivered next day free of charge. This company stands behind their warranty and product (Posted on 5/20/2020)

I bought this in a large but had to send it back because it was to big. a word of advice if your thigh is a 26" in diameter if it start with that size in a medium go with that size
you'll have plenty of width. Alien Gear send me the right size after I returned it. no questions ask. I love these guys. (Posted on 4/28/2020)
Good and serviceable but some oversights Review by Mike

Using with a Glock 32.

It fits well and is easily adjustable. I ordered a medium and was easily able to adjust everything to fit my leg. Especially a fan of the double thigh straps. Leg holsters are inherently unbalanced when the gun is holstered and the brands that only have on thigh strap are often impossible to secure in such a way as to eliminate wobble. Not a problem here.

The retention is excellent, standard trigger guard latch with a thumb button on the inside. The button itself is a bit cheap feeling and has a lot of flex in it, meaning that if your thumb is off to one side slightly when you press it, it will bend to the side instead of going straight down and releasing the gun. It doesn't feel as if it's going to break and training will solve the problem. Still, it is a silly problem to have and could easily be solved by having a slightly thicker linkage or adding a small bracket around it to keep it aligned. Also, holstering requires a bit more force than some other common brands of these holsters in order to lock it in. Again, training will solve this problem for each user but it would have been easy to solve by changing the shape of the latch or adding a small teflon strip to it, or any other number of tiny changes.

My largest complaint, by far, is the belt straps. On the plus side, it is a single strap from the center of the holster that then Y's out to 2 straps. However, the way you secure it to a belt is closed loops you have to feed your belt through.....come on. Other double velcro systems are much better. So much better that I cut the loops that came with this thing off and replaced them with other velcro loops. They're exactly the same dimensions and fit right in the buckles.

Finally, I have some small concerns about quality and durability. The plastic feels cheap and the retention mechanism creaks and squeaks like cheap plastic rubbing against cheap plastic. But nothing has broken yet and it is extremely comfortable and easy to use. (Posted on 1/14/2020)

I haven’t got to use it yet but from what I gather it’s a pretty good holster. The only down side is that it took 3 weeks to get here. (Springfield XD 9mm was the Gun) (Posted on 1/10/2020)

Could not be happier Review by Michael Simi Valley

Just received my Drop Leg Holster. I have a Glock 17 with an extended ported barrel and an extended Mag release so I knew I'd need to do a little Dremel work. Easy enough to remove the thumb lock and use just the adjustable trigger housing retaining system. The straps to adjust the leg and waist / holster height are easy to setup to my individual comfort. Being able to adjust the cant angle of the pistol (holster) was a big reason why I choose a Alien Gear Holster - works exactly as I expected. This thing is extremely comfortable, well made and a great design. (Posted on 5/28/2019)
