Shield 40 Drop Leg Holster

Why shouldn't you have an M&P Shield 40 drop leg holster? Just because a pistol is compact doesn't mean there aren't instances where you might wish to open carry, such as around the house, at the range or possibly outdoors. It's fantastically comfortable.

But you might have noticed that what M&P Shield 40 drop thigh holster models there are on the market aren't very good. A great deal of them are generic plastic holsters or nylon pouches that basically don't fit anything but can hold almost anything because of an active retention device.

What that sort of holster is selling is that you can have function or convenience. We think that you can have both with an M&P Shield 40 thigh holster.

Here's how:

The Alien Gear S&W M&P Shield 40 leg holster starts with our thigh rig base. It's molded from a nearly indestructible proprietary polymer blend, along with heavy-duty straps. It attaches securely to the leg and the belt and once secured, isn't going anywhere but also carries comfortably.

Then there's the holster itself. You can choose to deploy the ShapeShift OWB holster or our Cloak Mod OWB holster with the thigh carry adapter. In both cases, you're using a holster that is made for the Shield 40 alone - the fit is custom, because the holster is.

That also means adjustable passive retention, which can be set to the precise hold that you want. Many users find this is all that is needed, but should you wish to install an active retention device, the ShapeShift can be equipped with a thumb release. That's full Level II retention.

Additionally, you get the benefit of being able to undock the holster and wear it on the belt with a paddle or belt slide attachment, or dock it with the ShapeShift or Cloak Dock holster mount on the surface of your choice. No other thigh holster offers this much versatility.

You can rest easy about a guarantee, as Alien Gear gives you the Iron Clad Guarantee that we're known for. You get a 30 Day Test Drive trial period after purchase, and a lifetime warranty on the holster as well. We back up our products, and we believe you won't want to carry with anything else.

It's time you found a better carry.

Could not be happier Review by Michael Simi Valley

Just received my Drop Leg Holster. I have a Glock 17 with an extended ported barrel and an extended Mag release so I knew I'd need to do a little Dremel work. Easy enough to remove the thumb lock and use just the adjustable trigger housing retaining system. The straps to adjust the leg and waist / holster height are easy to setup to my individual comfort. Being able to adjust the cant angle of the pistol (holster) was a big reason why I choose a Alien Gear Holster - works exactly as I expected. This thing is extremely comfortable, well made and a great design. (Posted on 5/28/2019)

There is no more wiggle. Holster stays in one place. Firearm locks right in easy draw with thumb button. (Posted on 4/8/2019)

Shape shift drop leg holster Review by Kyle

Looks great but performs poorly. The buttons are sticky and get hung up as well. My glock 19 is hard to draw no matter what the retention level is set to. Does not accommodate some after market parts either as in extended mag releases, suppressor height sights, threaded barrels. I knew it would not sport a glock with an rmr but with all the other things it does not accommodate I only have one of my 19s I can carry and thats my daily run of the mill glock that I dont want to carry on my thigh but am stuck with.
