One of the most persistent flaws with modern holster design, regardless of whether it is an or , is that threads back out, requiring LocTite or other thread locker to be used. A lot of people have come to expect it. They buy a new holster and instead of being able to put their gun in and carrying with it, the first order of business is putting on the thread treatment.

Sound familiar? A lot of concealed carriers just take it as granted!

What if you didn't have to worry about it ever again? What if you could have a holster that doesn't need threadlocker, that is ready to carry right out of the box?

That's what the ShapeShift is. The revolutionary design of the ShapeShift holster system will keep you from ever needing LocTite ever again.

Improvement To ShapeShift Holster Shell Means No Screws To Back Out

Why do other holster shells loosen, "back out," and so on while the ShapeShift holster shell does not? Simple.

The typical hybrid holster or Kydex pancake holster - like our Cloak Tuck, Cloak Slide and Cloak Mod holsters - is put together using a series of nuts and bolts. The exact hardware varies; some use Chicago screws and posts, others use T-nuts and others use different hardware.

Over time, as the holster moves around as it is worn, this causes the bolt and nut to move around, leading to incremental movement and the eventual loosening and "backing out" that so many people have experienced.

The ShapeShift holster shell, however, doesn't attach that way.

Instead, the shell attaches to the ShapeShift backer using two locking tabs, with a locking cover that anchors it to the holster. Then, you lock it in place with the included twist lock nut.

In the full wrap configuration, the holster slides together with interlocking rails and secures with the twist lock. Again, no way to back out or loosen. The holster stays together until you WANT it to come apart.

Quick Adjustment And No More Loosening Holster Belt Clips

Besides the retention shell, the other part that often gets the LocTite treatment or otherwise fails is the holster belt clips. They can back out in the same manner. Likewise, if you want to adjust them - which on most holsters adjusts the grip cant angle and/or the ride height - it can be a hassle, usually requiring you to track down an Allen wrench.

And those get lost EASILY in the junk drawer or in a tool box. It's a royal pain.

But you don't have to with the ShapeShift IWB holster.

The ShapeShift's belt clips attach to the holster by a locking cam insert. To adjust, you rotate the clips until the eccentric on the cam (that's the bit that sticks out) aligns correctly. Then simply pry up and out comes the clip. Install in the desired insert tab.

It only takes seconds. It will never back out, it will never come out on its own. We also include a selection of belt clips in the ShapeShift Core Carry Pack, including standard clips, J-clips, C-clips and loops. No need to buy the rest a la carte.

Compare Other Holsters, Few Are Good To Go Out Of The Box

Very few holsters don't need SOME sort of fettling with before being ready to carry. With hybrid holsters, of course, one has to first apply threadlocker to screw threads so it doesn't come apart. Likewise, the retention will have to adjusted to the user's desired retention setting.

Leather pancake holsters often need a bit of breaking in before being ready to carry. The typical method is to put your gun in a plastic bag and work it into the holster, then leave it in overnight. That stretches the leather. Sometimes, even this isn't enough and several break-in sessions are needed before the holster is ready to carry.

The ShapeShift doesn't need any treatments or fiddling with. It's ready to carry the second you take it out of the box. It doesn't loosen over time unless you dial back the retention. The clips on the IWB model don't loosen unless you take them out.

Why does this matter?

Well, it's pretty simple. Do you want to carry with a holster that works pretty good with a little work? Or do you want to never worry about what you're carrying your gun with?

Order the ShapeShift Modular Holster System Core Carry Pack if you're ready to have the most comprehensive setup you've ever owned.
