Replacement hardware was received very quickly, and quality is great. Alien Gears warranty is the best. I love the shape shift system.
Pretty pleased with the holster, the position 4 o'clock is where I like to carry and the pad doesn't get in the way of drawing weapon but if it gets closer to appendix it does. I like the position and comfort at this point.
Have been using their shapeshift holsters for years for various handguns and have had zero issues. So naturally I bought their photon holster so I can finally use a mounted light. Their customer service is fantastic and responsive. As for the photon holster, it’s okay. The gun locks once it’s in the holster, but getting it in and out is rough. I’ve adjusted the tensions multiple times and it continues to rip plastic from my TLR 7sub light. Never had any issues with the shapeshift holsters. Definitely disappointed in this product.
It was easy to remove one shell and replace for another pistol. Does exactly what I needed it to do for riding my motorcycle or just every day concealed carry. Excellent!
I think the shapeshift core carry pack is awesome!!! Actually it was for my wife who was unsure about a carry position so the shapeshift core carry pack gives her several options for iwb and owb. Everything fits well and adjusts perfect.Great setup !! Great job to all. Thanks

I have a few other Cloak Tuck Holsters from Alien Gear, which are about 8 years old. Though, the new holsters I bought are still comfortable, the craftsmanship has declined. Some of the stitching has frayed in the couple of weeks since I received them. the adjustable belt clips are loose and more fragile than the older clips. The retention was difficult to adjust. The holster cants my XD's grip out in a very odd way, even with the large grommets.
The packaging was horrendous! A clear plastic bag with 2 holsters shoved in it. My older holsters came individually packaged and wrapped. The mag carrier wasn't in any kind of packaging, the belt clips were clipped together and tossed in the shipping plastic bag.
Frankly, I'm disappointed in the quality and packaging of the holsters I purchased. I don't think I'll be buying Alien Gear holsters again.
First, there is a very serious design flaw which I would say makes this completely unusable for a duty holster. The thumb actuation lever is very thin and bends in and out. This wouldn’t be an issue, but since the kydex was formed to the gun, there is an edge around where the frame meets the slide and the thumb lever gets bonded up right there very easily, making it impossible to draw the gun. That ridge is necessary for the slide stop lever. Yes training *could* help this issue a little, in a high adrenaline situation, you’ll grip it too hard and it will hinder and you’ll be left fumbling with the gun in your holster costing precious time. The obvious fix for this would be to add material to the holster so there was no longer a ridge there and the thumb lever rested flush with the holster rather than having a gap there.
Second, the thumb lever is positioned in an awkward spot. Realistically it is too high up on the slide. My hands are pretty average sized, if anything they are slightly smaller than average so it could be somewhat a hand size issue but from the others I’ve let test the holster, they have mentioned the same issue. When I am drawing, it should feel like my thumb goes to the natural position or just barely high enough to force a good grip from the start (Safariland ALS is a great example). The fix for this would be redesigning the thumb lever. I am going to make my own thumb lever out of metal to hopefully correct both the lever bind up as well as its resting position.
Third, and not quite as big a deal, the holster itself is compact which I enjoy, they really should make it a little slimmer so it fits a bit closer to the body though. The mounting system, both belt slide and belt clip on method just push it out a little further than I’d like.
Fourth, I don’t know why, but there is a fair amount of material that is rubbing off onto my gun, more so than I’ve had with other holsters. I’m not sure if it’s because of the tight tolerance or if it’s just the kydex used isn’t as strong as other companies.
All in all, I would probably go with something else, given the choice. I purchased this because it seemed compact and I really wanted the comfort of a more slim compact holster. I say this as someone who is usually a fan of the products AG puts out. I wish I could add pictures to this review to show how flimsy the lever is and it binding on the body of the holster. If you’re LEO and looking for a duty holster, do not trust this one with your life. If you aren’t LEO, and just looking for an OWB holster, this is fine. Just not quite field ready for us LEO.
No complaints, I'm still working on a way to conceal carry a spare mag, yet have it tactically available, this holder has given me more options!
Ever since I started using the cloak holster its the only one that I have bought. Always holds my pistols secure and I never worry about them falling out.
Perfect fit for a Glock 43X mag. The sidecar attachment doesn’t work for me, so chose to use the belt clip owb. Smooth quick mag draw with the adjustable retention.
I love the product! It's very modular to the point that I can run different configuration with or without the side mag carrier. Only thing I wish is to have a sweat guard that maybe can be attached on after you figure out how you want to carry.
This is my second one and just love it. comfortable, holds my weapon securely.
I believe the gentleman I spoke with was Tom. He was very helpful in helping me with my holster selection. He consulted with production to verify my setup would work with the Photon holster I selected. The kit is a very versatile setup and works great for different carry options. Very satisfied.
Best holster I ever had, very easy to learn to put together I love the different retention levels very sturdy holsters. I would definitely by again for another gun.
Unfortunately the holster didn’t support my weapon light so I returned it. In its place I got the model with no light which I like very much.
