Collection: Bersa Thunder 380 Holsters — IWB, OWB, Belt & Belly Band Carry

The Bersa Thunder 380 is a compact, aluminum-frame .380 ACP pistol with a long production history and a loyal civilian following. This Alien Gear Holsters collection covers five carry styles built specifically for the Thunder 380's frame geometry: OWB paddle, belt, belly band, Low-Pro OWB, and Low-Pro IWB. Each holster is molded for consistent retention, a clean draw, and all-day wearability.

Bersa Thunder 380 Holster Compatibility Overview

The Bersa Thunder 380 is a blowback-operated, DA/SA semi-automatic pistol chambered in .380 ACP, manufactured in Argentina by Bersa S.A. and introduced in 1995. It remains in current production.

Its aluminum alloy frame, steel slide, and compact dimensions give it a solid, all-metal feel that sets it apart from most modern polymer-framed compacts in the same size category. The following factory specifications define the frame geometry that determines holster fit:

  • Caliber: .380 ACP (9x17mm Browning Short)
  • Barrel length: 3.5 in.
  • Overall length: 6.6 in.
  • Height: ~4.7 in.
  • Width: ~1.3 in.
  • Unloaded weight: ~20 oz.
  • Frame: Aluminum alloy
  • Slide: Steel
  • Grip: Polymer panels

Fit Boundary

Every holster in this collection is molded or fitted to the standard Bersa Thunder 380 frame.

The Thunder 380 family includes several variants -- the Thunder 380 CC, Thunder 380 Plus, and various finish packages -- but this collection is confirmed for the standard Thunder 380 configuration.

Do not assume cross-fit with the Thunder 380 Plus or CC variants unless Alien Gear Holsters explicitly confirms those models as supported.

How to Choose the Right Alien Gear Holster for the Bersa Thunder 380

Start with two questions

1. Is concealment your primary goal, or is fast access more important?

The Thunder 380's compact dimensions (6.6 in. long, ~4.7 in. tall) and moderate weight (~20 oz. unloaded with an alloy frame) make it suitable across all five carry styles in this collection. Your answer to this question narrows the field quickly.

2. Will you be carrying with a belt, or do you need a beltless option?

Four of the five holsters in this collection require a belt. The belly band is the only beltless option and the correct choice when traditional waistband carry is not practical.

Matching Context to Carry Style

  • Everyday concealed carry with a belt -- Low-Pro IWB or Cloak Belt Holster
  • Range use, open carry, or easy on/off -- Cloak OWB Paddle or Low-Pro OWB
  • Beltless, casual, or active carry -- Low-Pro Belly Band
  • Close-body OWB with some concealment -- Low-Pro OWB

The Thunder 380's alloy frame adds meaningful weight relative to polymer-frame compacts of similar size. A sturdy belt rated for holster carry is recommended when using any of the four belt-dependent options to maintain consistent ride height throughout the day.

Carry Styles Supported by This Collection

Cloak OWB Paddle Holster

An outside-the-waistband holster that attaches via a contoured paddle, allowing the holster to be put on and taken off without threading a belt.

Built with a Boltaron shell and neoprene-backed construction for stable positioning and all-day wear. Best suited for range days, open carry, or any context where the holster needs to come on and off frequently.

Cloak Belt Holster

Rides outside the waistband on a belt up to 1.5 in. wide. Features CoolVent neoprene backing, edge-to-edge ballistic nylon layers, a spring-steel core, and a combat cut for a full firing grip.

Distributes the Thunder 380's ~20 oz. weight evenly for extended wear. Suitable for open carry, daily use, and training when concealment is not required.

Low-Pro Belly Band Holster

The only beltless option in this collection. Wraps around the torso and secures without a belt, making it appropriate for jogging, casual clothing, or situations where traditional waistband carry is not practical.

Offers deep concealment and flexibility across clothing styles. Not intended as a substitute for a belt-mounted holster in duty or training contexts.

Low-Pro OWB Holster

A slim, outside-the-waistband design that sits close to the body to reduce printing under light outerwear. Features a Boltaron shell, neoprene backing, spring-steel core, adjustable cant, and adjustable retention.

Provides faster access than IWB while maintaining a lower profile than a standard paddle holster. A practical middle-ground option for plainclothes or concealed-leaning open carry.

Low-Pro IWB Holster

Carries inside the waistband for everyday concealment. Features a slim Boltaron shell, dual holster clips, adjustable cant, adjustable retention, and a spring-steel core for structural stability during seated and active carry.

Built to minimize printing while maintaining a reliable draw stroke. Best suited for daily concealed carry where discretion takes priority.

Common Fit or Selection Mistakes to Avoid

  • Using a generic compact holster. The Thunder 380's alloy frame and steel slide give it a profile that does not align with most generic compact shells. A holster molded specifically for the Thunder 380 is required for consistent trigger guard coverage and a predictable draw.
  • Assuming Thunder 380 Plus or CC variants fit this collection. The Thunder 380 Plus uses a higher-capacity double-stack magazine that widens the grip profile. The CC variant has a more rounded external profile. Neither is confirmed as fitting holsters designed for the standard Thunder 380 unless explicitly listed.
  • Underestimating frame weight for IWB carry. At approximately 20 oz. unloaded, the Thunder 380 is heavier than most polymer-framed compacts of comparable dimensions. IWB carry requires a belt capable of supporting that weight without sagging or shifting.
  • Selecting the belly band for duty or training use. The belly band is designed for casual, active, or beltless carry scenarios. It is not engineered for the draw consistency and retention demands of formal training or duty environments.

When This Collection May Not Be the Right Fit

This collection is built for the standard factory-configuration Bersa Thunder 380. If your pistol has been modified with a barrel extension, suppressor adapter, or any component that alters the factory frame dimensions, fit cannot be assumed without verification.

This collection covers five carry types. If your intended carry method is not represented above, it is not currently available for the Bersa Thunder 380 in the Alien Gear Holsters lineup.

Do not substitute a holster type not listed here and assume it will function correctly with this model.
