Rapid Force® Level II Holster

The Rapid Force level II holster is pretty nice for what it is. It doesn't feel fragile, and retains my pistol very well; tugging on the gun without depressing the thumb release will not let that gun free at all. The open top design of the holster gives you a lot of freedom for optic choices, as there's nothing to obstruct your red dot in terms of height or physical size. The gap for your iron sights additionally provides enough space to clear suppressor-height sights. That said, the holster does like to leave black plastic residue on my light; not an actual scratch on the finishing, but it just leaves a black streak which isn't visually appealing. I also feel my pistol likes to wiggle around a bit, as the only thing keeping the gun from falling out is the active retention over the ejection port. Maybe I just need to tighten the screws down, but either way without the active retention my pistol would just be loosely bouncing around

In any case though. Aside from a few things I feel could be improved, I do really like this holster after using it pretty heavily. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a good active retention holster, and I'd definitely buy it again for another gun sometime in the future

Incredible product I love it fit perfect

I wanted to give the Level 2 rapid force a try as an “admin carry” holster as opposed to my level 3 Safariland that I am accustomed to. Firstly I hate the belt locking slide since it’s pretty counterproductive if you’re wearing the holster with a regular style belt, which is what it’s meant for, since you’re stuck between choosing putting the holster either in front of or behind your 3 o’clock belt loop, when ideally it should be right on the 3 o’clock. Now for the dealbreaker about this holster, the thumb release is way too short. I would be willing to buy/install a longer release but they don’t sell one. As compared to the Safariland where the release is in a natural position for me to just sweep my thumb while drawing… aliengear’s thumb release is short enough that I’m having a 20% failure on the draw because only the tip of my thumb is able to hit the release without changing my grip on the gun before drawing it. At first I figured it could be trained out but no amount of dry fire and drawing can change that fact. It’s just too low, with no aftermarket or OEM support to change the length of it, I will be selling this holster. It’s also a shame Aliengear doesn’t offer their rapid force level 2’s in a Glock 34 length. If we’re talking about duty pistols I think it’s realistic to include the 5” guns. I no longer think aliengear is a direct competitor to Safariland, I still like the level 3 holsters from aliengear but my experience with this one has left a bad taste in my mouth.
One more thing, when paired with the belt locking slide and quick release, there is a rattle when walking coming from the tolerance between the quick release and the belt mount, which is very annoying. I’m going to be sticking with Safariland.

Trying to have an objective review but I would say overall very bad. I have a potential life or death situation on a warrant service, my holster broke and the best that was offered was replace the same holster or I pay the difference for a level 3. I feel this wasn’t a great response given the situation but I also understand I am a little emotional towards this situation and did take awhile to make up my mind. I will not be returning as a customer and would encourage others not to purchase the level 2 rapid force duty holster for Glock 45 with large light. It’s simply not safe.

I have this holster for my Glock 17 and my Glock 19/45. Those two holsters I give a five star rating. I love those. They were great. However, the one I recently ordered for my Glock 48 was kind of a letdown. I am running the TLR7 light and getting it in and out of the holster it seems to hang up on the light a little.. It needs a little more room for it to clear easily.That being said I’ve already done and ran through both tension. Screws in different combinations to see if it could work a little bit better. I’ve gotten it to work just a little bit better, but it needs a little more clearance. And as far as the threaded barrel cut it will, it will not allow my threaded barrel to work with a thread protector. I only have this issue with my Glock 48. Like I said earlier, the other two holsters I have for my full-size Glocks. I can run a threaded barrel with a thread protector on in those holsters with no issues.I’m going to have to modify this holster that I got for my Glock 48 to make it work like the holsters I got for my Glock 1719 and 45 models.

This is by far the best holster I've ever purchased. I've got the Glock 19 Gen 4 with an optic and the Glock GTL II tactical light. Everything fit perfectly with the right amount of tension straight from the factory. The belt clip is so nice. At the time of this review Alien Gear is the only company even making a level 2 holster that can accomodate the GTL II in this manner. Highly recommend.

Overall works good. I am pleased with it but my only complaint is that the package says customizable cant but there is no instruction. On how to do it.

Was skeptical about fitment, but the gun locks in securely even with a less common pistol light (wild2)

Love it its womderful conceable holster i with with can have different set up for different lights like olight baldpro with láserand other olight lights but the holster is amazing and fit my glock 45mos with olight probando olight red Dot

Well constructed level 2 retention holster. Very comfortable, good action on the release lever.

I love the security on thislevel 2 holster. Enough to know my pistol is secure, but not too much that I am overwhelmed trying to access it.
I do wish I could leave it attached to the belt slide and remove it from my waist easier, but that's part of the security I guess. Overall its fantastic.

The Rapid Force holster solved many of my conceal carry issues. My previous holster had too much wobble. It was also bulky. On top of that I could never obtain the proper cant angle for my personal need. I also carry with an optic and the holster accommodated that perfectly.

Great i love alien holsters the rapid force level 2 is a great holster buying one for every gun i own.

I bought this for my glock 19x running the streamlight tlr-7a to try out coming from a safariland to this both using thier qd set ups and this is by far the better... you dont have to pinch the tabs together to hook the holster to clip... it damn near guides it self in then it clicks into place... seams it holds the weight of the weapon better making it feel light weight and doesnt really interfere with say sitting on the couch

This is a near perfect holster with one fatal flaw. The thumb switch is flimsy! It flexes in all directions very easily, and will definitely fail under pressure.

With an imperfect press, under pressure or hard use, the thumb switch will flex and catch on the ledge relief for the slide release. It would also snap easily in a scuffle. This needs to be addressed asap to be taken seriously.

This is not quite a duty holster. The thumb switch needs to be both rigid and durable, otherwise it’s bound to fail.

This is almost a perfect holster in my opinion, but this fatal flaw relegates it to being a hobby holster only.
