Glock - 31 ShapeShift 4.0 IWB Holster

$55.88
An IWB holster must act, feel and perform a certain way. It must be concealable, comfortable and adaptable to a gun owner's lifestyle. The ShapeShift Glock 31 IWB holster is a modular system of concealed carry that can be reconfigured into any of the available ShapeShift carry systems, like IWB appendix or OWB belt slide.

The carrier has control over every aspect of this Glock holster — cant, retention, ride height, holster placement and holster type. The materials have been engineered and crafted through thousands of hours of research and development to serve specific functions.

By raising or lowering the clips, the IWB holster can rest at different angles and heights. The passive retention can be adjusted by installing a custom retention bar for a tighter or looser draw.

The backer is made of four layers of textiles: a perforated neoprene that wicks away moisture from the holster's contents and cushions the body, a core of flexible spring steel that molds to the body and provides structure for the backer, a layer of ballistic nylon for strength and durability, and a high drag Alien Skin thermos elastomer for durability on the holster's front.

The holster shell is mounted to the backer at a single point to contort the holster more comfortably to the waist. The shell is low-profile and made from injection-molded polymer to fit the make and model of the gun it carries.

We've invested an immense amount of resources making this the most innovative option for concealed carry. To back that up, we offer a lifetime warranty on all parts and materials. We will replace or repair any portion of the holster.

The holster is made in America to be tough. See for yourself with the 30-day test drive. If it doesn't work how you want it to within those 30 days, we'll buy it back from you.

Nothing does what the ShapeShift holster offers. It's an evolution.

Best Holsters I have ever used, wearing one right now! Review by Sheepdog

Been using Alien Gear holsters since before the "shape shift", and the 2.0/4.0 etc. models existed. I currently own 4 "shells", one old school IWB leather revolver specific model, 2 neoprene IWB types for the other three other gun specific shells, and the shape shift shell with the molle, backpack, and paddle attachments. Other than a few screws "backing out" of the old school IBW models (lock-tite works great, btw), I have had no issues with any of these model, and I carry everyday, FOR WELL OVER FIVE YEARS NOW! The adjustable draw tension, the comfort of carry, the carry gun flexibility, and now the mode of carry with the shape shift exceed my expectations. The active retention option with the shape shift (at no cost and easily removable), still provides lightning fast draws, (with minimal practice), yet held firm when a huge Marine friend of mine tried to remove my weapon from the holster, (with my knowledge as a test). Despite me being literally lifted off the ground by his attempt, (courtesy of a quality carry belt and high end duty pants securing the paddle attachment), the firearm remained safely in the holster, the paddle remained safely attached to my belt and pants, and the shell attachment point (which allows for mount interchangeability) remained undamaged and fully functional. The variable length, optional positive locking, 360 degree on demand cant option (as with nearly all of the shape shift mount options), molle attachment works great on the molle compatible mag shingle attached to my level 4 vest, and allows for pistol placement when/if I need to switch from paddle/OTW carry, simply by remounting my shell, (without tools and in seconds) from one mount option to the other. (Be mindful of the placement of Armor/backpack mount locations if you expect to simultaneously utilize a sling carried rifle, as the shape shift may present a sling entanglement issue, as it is more high profile and has deeper intrinsic "catch points/recesses", than some other less adaptable molle pistol rigs.) Due to an ordering mistake, which was entirely my fault, I can attest to the attentiveness, responsiveness, and professional nature of Alien Gear's staff. Presumably, that same quality of service, at Alien Gear, would exist if I ever encountered a product failure, WHICH I HAVE NOT! If these guys make a shell for your pistol, which chances are they do, don't think twice about buying from them. I trust my life, the lives of my family, and the lives of anyone else I may need to protect, with these holsters. You should as well. (Posted on 12/3/2020)
Holster may not be gun specific Review by Nickname

I liked the look of the holster, it has positive reviews and the price isn't bad. I ordered the shapeshift 4.0 for the Kimber Micro9. The ordering process was easy and it came relatively fast. When I opened up the package I was disappointed though, on the package was a sticker that said designed for Sig Sauer P938, P238. Looks like I got a new Sig holster that my Kimber will work with. I had to crank the retention down several turns to hold it tight but it still is not snug in the holster.
So, just know that if you order a new holster, it may be a generic fit. (Posted on 11/27/2020)

Alien Gear Holsters responded:

We do sincerely apologize for any confusion that label may have caused! Our R&D team found that the Kimber Micro 9, Kimber Micro, Sig P938, and Sig P238 were close enough dimensionally that they all fit the same mold. As such, this is the mold we use for all 4 firearms. If you experience any issues with the fitment of your holster please feel free to reach out our customer service team at 208-215-2046 or via our online chat service and we will be more than happy to assist you.

After receiving my 4.0 IWB holster I was a bit disappointed, after reading and view some videos I became satisfied, I must say it is the most comfortable holster I have ever own, truth be told, I replace my fence and gate with the holster on me and never was I uncomfortable, at times I forget that I had it on me, glock 17, not a small gun (Posted on 11/4/2020)

I purchased this holster and needed it replaced because it cracked. Alien Gear replaced with no questions asked. I asked if I could change the color of the leather part to black (I originally ordered the natural color) and without hesitation, they did so. I HIGHLY recommend Alien Gear to anyone. Shapeshift 4.0 Review by Jerry

Purchased the Shapeshift 4.0 for my M&P 40 and Ruger LCPII. First off, the quality of the holster is amazing. Being able to adjust the tension of the shell is awesome. You can really fine tune the tension for your draw and how your pants fit around it. It did take a few days to get it right but now I dont have to mess around with it. Its super comfortable and after a few days I dont even notice it there. I carry at the 5:00 position due to my portly size.

I will add that I started to carry my M&P fullsize with a standard belt and it was no good. kept pulling down my pants on that side. However, it is fine with the LCPII and a standard belt. Fast foward a week and I have an actual carry belt that doesnt sag. HUGE difference it makes. Pants dont sag anymore with the fullsize.

I absolutley love this holster and with the right belt, EDC is no problem with a fullsize. (Posted on 10/2/2020)

I bought one for my S&W4006 and I love it. But I wish you still sold it I have a few friends with the same firearm that are looking for a quality holster but I don't see that model listed as an option anymore. (Posted on 9/30/2020)
extremely loose Review by Jeff

the holster fits my hip nice. But it doesn't hold my gun tight...or even snug for that matter. It just sits in there extremely loose. I would not recommend the 4.0 to anyone that wants to actually carry their weapon. (Posted on 9/19/2020)

Alien Gear Holsters responded:

Hello Jeff, thank you so much for your feedback! We do apologize for the fitment of the gun here. We definitely recommend in this case to reach out to our customer service representatives. All our holsters offer the option to tighten the retention to your preferred tightness. Please feel free to reach out and we can get you taken care of!

Not For Me Review by Kirk

I'm not a big man, 5'7" 160 lb. But there was no way I could make this holster work for me. I have a very good belt that supports my holster well but the whole rig with weapon tries to pull off my pants on that side no matter how tight I hook my belt. It's comfortable around the house as long as I'm sitting down but have to continually hitch up my pants and holster. I'm carrying a S&W 9mm semi. For the money I would trade it for a smaller holster in a heartbeat. But alas I am past my trial period and stuck with it. (Posted on 9/18/2020)

I have a box with about 20 holsters for various guns and this is the one I actually use. This is the best holster I own for my S&W M&P. It's comfortable, great retention, smooth draw and reholster. And the price is great! Keep up the great work! (Posted on 9/12/2020)
