I utilized this holster on a 7-day hunt in Prince William Sound, Alaska. The holster was carried 16+ hours each day, so I am very confident in my experiences with this holster. Starting at the top, the holster does not offer any protection for the safety lever, which caused branches to disable the safety three times during my trip. Carrying a locked and cocked 1911 without the safety is dangerous, which was never my intent.
The next issue, the magazine eject button is not protected. On two separate occasions the magazine dropped from the pistol. Thankfully, I was able to recover both magazines as I heard the metallic drop sound.
Moving down, the barrel is not protected at all in this holster. On several occasions, I had to slide down cliff/hillsides, which caused the barrel to get plunged full of debris. Only the outside of the holster has plastic, the side against your leg is fully open.
With the inside being fully open, every branch was tearing into my Sigs finish, which caused damage to the firearms cerakote. I don't really care about a woods gun getting finish damage, however, it's not acceptable for a poorly designed product to be the cause. (Posted on 11/3/2019)Alien Gear Holsters responded:

Hey Mattie, we do apologize that your holster keeps shift on you while you're running. We would recommend tightening down the leg straps more to limit the holster from rotating. Please reach out to us and we will gladly work with you to make sure your holster is comfortable and make things right!
