ShapeShift Taurus PT111 Millennium G2 Shoulder Holster by Alien Gear Holsters

You could carry with any Taurus PT111 Millennium G2 shoulder holster...but you probably won't enjoy it, or for that matter use it all that much, unless you carry with a good one. What goes into a good shoulder holster?

The best Taurus PT111 G2 shoulder holster will be comfortable. It should ideally be adjustable, so you can get it dialed in for you to wear. It should also have good fitment and retention for the pistol, and being able to carry a spare magazine or two would be a plus.

We have just the shoulder holster for you: the ShapeShift Shoulder Holster for Taurus PT111 pistols.

Comfort is a design priority at Alien Gear. We start with comfortable leather straps, which are joined by clover harness. This lets the straps articulate and move with the wearer, sitting naturally and comfortably. The over-the-shoulder straps are padded with our CoolVent neoprene for greater comfort, as are the base pads for the gun holster and the magazine carrier pad.

The holster straps hook under the belt, creating stability and distributing the weight better than other shoulder holsters. This also keeps the gun riding close, for easier concealment.

You also get the benefit of being able to customize your Taurus PT111 G2 shoulder holster to your desired specifications. Beyond strap length, the ride height and grip cant of the holster and mag carrier bases are also adjustable. Wear your gun horizontal, with a positive or negative cant, or fully vertical.

Fitment isn't an issue. The ShapeShift shell is custom-molded for your pistol, and the trigger guard is fully wrapped for greater security. You can dial in passive retention for the perfect hold, and a removable thumb break strap is included should you wish to carry with one.

Wondering if this is too good to be true? Take the holster for a 30 Day Test Drive, a trial period after purchase during which you can return the holster for a refund. That's part of Alien Gear's Iron-Clad Guarantee on our ShapeShift line of holsters. You also get a lifetime warranty on the holster, meaning any issue gets fixed or you get a new holster as long as you have it.

This is a new standard in shoulder holsters. Get your test drive started and find out for yourself.

Worth The Wait Review by DANIEL

I ordered my holster just as this whole COVID-19 thing started and waited well over a month for it to come in. I do have to say though that it was worth it. The craftsmanship is outstanding and the comfort is top-notch. The only con I have is that holster insert will not accommodate a light on the front of my pistol. It would be a nice future add on for the product. I for one would purchase it and I believe I am not alone. Other than this small con I have nothing bad to say about the product. A well-made holster that fits my pistol nicely and has multiple adjustment/personalization options. (Posted on 6/16/2020)
Great Product With Room For Improvement Review by Josh

First, I would like to state that this is a great product. The quality of the workmanship put into this handmade leather holster is superb. However, there are some design flaws that I would like to point out. Also note that I purchased two of these holsters, one for myself and one for my father. Over the last 60 days our experiences have been the same. The first issue we had is the design of the magazine portion of the shoulder rig. The mag pouches are plastic and adjustable, and though they do have rounded edges they poke you on soft inside of the arm. I attempted to muscle through this discomfort for 30 days but just could not get past it. Therefore, I removed the mag carrier and switched to the included link, my father told me not long after that he did the same. This brings in a second issue, as now the whole rig wants to pull towards the firearm side due to the weight. The link only allows you to loop two mag side shoulder straps. It does not allow you the option to reuse the included belt strap found on the mag paddle. If this function did exist, I would not only be able to keep both sides of my pants up but also even out the distribution of the entire rig. My Father and I would honestly be willing to pay a little more for the leather flap that is provided on the firearm side to be included, as it resolves the exact issue that would exist for the firearm. On a side note, the customer service line has the nicest ladies I have ever dealt with. At the time of my order they were having tech issues and the conformation emails were not going out. I reached out customer service by phone and the lovely lady that answered provided me with my information. She also explained to me that the leather portions are all hand made to order and that it would take longer than I expected to receive these. Since one was purchased as a gift and time was a factor to me, she assisted me in canceling my original order and reordering with expedited shipping. She also proceeded to call me back several days later to ensure that I received all my conformation emails once the Alien Gear email servers were back online. This level of service has made me and my father customers for life. Thank you all for what you do. (Posted on 5/30/2020)
WAY Too Bulky! Review by EDCD

I have several quality Alien products, which work very well and I use for EDC. When I was looking for a shoulder holster, I naturally went with the ShapeShift Shoulder Holster. Unfortunately, this product is a complete miss for Alien Gear, so much so that I believe they should scrap this design entirely and "go back to formula." First and foremost, for something you want concealed, this is the bulkiest shoulder holster on the market. From the extra thick should straps, to the beefy adjustment buckles to the extra thick padding on the holster itself, this will print unless you're wearing a huge parka on a expedition to Antartica. Seriously, it's that big. In addition, due to the bulk, you'll ALWAYS know you're wearing the ShapeShift Shoulder Holster. I returned this and purchased another brand with thin shoulder straps, a sturdy, yet low-profile holster, and snug dual-mag pouch. I can wear a thin jacket or hoodie and you'll never know I'm wearing it. Alien Gear's customer service was accommodating with my return. I'm sure Alien Gear won't print this review, but if they do, you've been warned. (Posted on 3/16/2020)

Excellent holster great for all day carry. Extremely comfortable once fitted to my needs and size. I have worn this holster on many 12+ hour days and trips with no issues at all. Worn it to check trail cameras in hunting season and its a great fit! (Posted on 12/11/2019)

If you are looking for a shoulder holster this is the one. Out of the box I could tell that someone put a lot of energy into the design and wearability. After an hour of reconfiguring and adjusting, I wore this thing with a fully loaded g22 and two double stack mags for 10 hours straight! I didn't want to take it off! Two things: if you use the belt hooks and they ride on your skin, request a couple of extra leather loops to cover them. Second, get some saddle soap or leather oil to quiet down the new leather noise. Now for the pros:

Thumb lock paddle is nice and big without intruding. It mounts on the shell in a place that makes it's function very intuitive. The shell fits the frame like a glove and doesn't rattle but it's still loose enough to draw quickly and quietly and is just as easy to reholster. The cross strap is very comfortably padded and well placed. It will not ride up your neck. The shell rides close to the ribs so that it minimizes interference with your normal movements. Here's the most important pro: it does not interfere with driving. Even if you are shifting an 18speed all day it stays out of the way. This is the best most practical way I have found to EDCC a large frame. Just get it. It exceeds brands that charge way more. Totally worth the money. (Posted on 11/27/2019)

Just received the Shape Shift Shoulder holster for my Gen3 Glock 19 on Friday. Out of the box the holster came fully assembled with instructions on how to add or remove features such as the thumb break, thumb release button and passive retention add on. The instructions also showed with diagrams on how to adjust the cant of both the fire arm and mag buckets (magazine holders) . After I fully disassembled the holster I adjusted it to my body type which is Big Handsome Man lol and I immediately could fell the difference from other high priced traditional shoulder holsters. This holster took out all the down falls of traditional holsters and added extra comfort features. I cannot wait to get my full video review out on my channel so I can tell my viewers about this amazing product. (Posted on 11/9/2019)

Price:
This product seems like a good value for the price as the mitch rosen and galco offerings are hundreds more. While being made of "English bridle leather", there are elastic pieces connecting the leather together, and those elastic pieces will eventually die (think worn out underwear).. this holster will not be a lifelong item, where the aforementioned full leather items will never appreciably degrade. Should I have paid more for a better item that I'll have for life?

Shipping:
Shipping was atrocious, taking a almost a complete month. Want it sooner? Be prepared to fork over as much as an extra $71 to get it shipped in a reasonable time frame. I feel as if I loaned Aliengear $140 for a month. And then when it did "ship", on a Saturday afternoon, only a tracking number was printed.. UPS did not take possession of the item until the following Tuesday! Misleading to be sure. Ordered on Sept 25th, arrived on October 19th. Amazon Prime has spoiled us and I cannot help but feel Aliengear has attempted to capitalize on our 2019 shipping expectations.

The actual holster:
This is a well thought out but fiddly item, and was not fully designed for left handed people. The plastic clamshell that the gun fits into fits exactly. The 2 spare clip containers on the offhand side can be snugged down to a single stack 9mm; nice touch to add the hex keys needed to adjust inside the item. The whole setup seems a bit too big for a 5'10" 161 pound human; I've got the adjustments wound all the way down and it still isn't taut, but is acceptable.

Retaining the firearm can be achieved through three different methods:
- an adjustable passive tab that clicks past the trigger guard
- aforementioned tab plus a leather snap thumb break
- a right handed only positive thumb release

Only 1 of the 3 works 100% for me: the adjustable passive tab. It can be adjusted so tight that you cannot get the firearm out of the holster and then backed off to your preferred break point. Adding the leather thumb break to the passive tab made the firearm difficult to insert and near impossible to retrieve; appears it was an afterthought and wasn't designed for the clam shell to contain both the gun and a strip of leather, though I'll have to revisit that. And finally, the thumb break (my preferred retention method) cannot be switched to left hand; you'll be using your pointer finger to release the thumb break if left handed.

The little plastic knobs/quick releases are a bit cheesy: they are tool-less but it looks like they might break or wear out sooner rather than later. Tiny, easy to lose. I would have preferred a tool-required option but that goes against the rapid reconfigure modular ecosystem Aliengear is creating.

All in all, the item looks great/classy, is well hidden under a sports coat, and seems worth the money. Shipping was offensive, and it was disappointing that the thumb break is right handed only. I was not looking to get into an Aliengear ecosystem; just wanted a nice shoulder holster. (Posted on 10/28/2019)
Comfortable and concealable Review by Robert

This is the first shoulder rig and after having it for a couple of months I can say it's done everything I want, how I wanted.
I bought this to wear while riding a motorcycle and ended up using it as my EDC holster. After a week of adjustment it goes under most of my shirts and jackets with little to no printing.
I tested its sweat absorption by wearing it while doing some yardwork and it preformed great. The only leather that was touched were the lower back straps that had no lining.
I don't use the straps but the thumb release. I tightened it a little bit and my firearm did not pop out. I worked up to playing with the dog (loaded with snap caps to be safe). It hasn't loosened in the 2 months.
I highly recommend this product and have bought the core carry pack as I was so impressed. (Posted on 10/26/2019)
Great Shoulder Holster but read for details Review by WG

I used a shoulder holster for the first time on a recent deployment and loved the feel, so I figured I'd get one for my personal carry weapon, a Sig P226. This holster has an amazing look and feel. I agree with a couple of the other reviews though. The instructions weren't quite clear in certain areas and you should have the same cover for the magazine holders as you do for the pistol so it doesn't scrape your arm. In addition, it took about 3 hours for me to set up, but I am a bit of a perfectionist. Being a bigger guy, I had to use a Phillips screwdriver to adjust the straps and the screws are extremely small, so make sure you keep track of them. Adjusting the straps was a little bit of a pain, but only because the leather is new and tight. Since I lowered the rig, I had to take the belt hooks off because they were too low and couldn't be adjusted anymore. I probably wouldn't have liked using them anyway. The rig came assembled but I had to take the holster apart because the Sig was too big. I had to swap the medium rubber spacers on the barrel side of the holster for the larger spacers. Still a little tight because of the thumb break, but hopefully that will change over time. The trigger side of the gun is a little loose, but if I tighten down that side (bottom) any more, the pistol won't come out easy. Adjusting the cant on the holster was easy enough but had to watch a video on how to cant the magazines. Now that I know how, it couldn't be easier. Overall a great buy and I look forward to getting some use out of it. (Posted on 9/21/2019)
