Collection: Kimber EVO SP Holsters

You chose a subcompact 9mm built from machined aluminum and stainless steel, in a market that settled for polymer. Carry it like it was built to be carried. The Cloak Tuck 3.5 positions the EVO SP inside the waistband with all-day comfort that holds up to the pistol's 18 to 19 oz metal frame, and the Cloak OWB Paddle gives you a fast, tool-free range and open carry option. Two carry styles, both purpose-fitted to the EVO SP's exact profile.

Kimber EVO SP Holster Compatibility Overview

The holsters in this collection are built to fit the Kimber EVO SP, a subcompact, striker-fired 9mm introduced by Kimber Manufacturing in late 2018.

The EVO SP is built on a machined aluminum alloy frame with a stainless steel slide, making it one of the few all-metal striker-fired subcompacts in its class.

Its compact dimensions, integral Picatinny rail, and carry-melted edge treatment define what a properly fitted holster needs to accommodate.

Kimber EVO SP Specs That Affect Holster Fit

The EVO SP is a subcompact pistol at 6.1 inches long and just 1.06 inches wide, with a machined aluminum frame and a stainless steel slide under an FNC black finish. Its carry-melt treatment removes all external sharp edges and corners, which contributes to its clean draw and reholster profile.

The pistol has no external manual thumb safety, and its striker block, trigger blade safety, and disconnector constitute the full safety system.

Key specifications relevant to holster selection:

  • Caliber: 9mm Luger; +P rated
  • Action: Striker-fired, single-action only; partial pre-tensioned striker
  • Barrel length: 3.16 inches, stainless steel, match-grade, bushingless design
  • Overall length: 6.1 inches
  • Height: 4.03 inches
  • Width: 1.06 inches
  • Unloaded weight: 18 to 19 oz depending on variant
  • Frame: Machined aluminum alloy
  • Slide: Stainless steel, FNC black finish or natural stainless depending on variant
  • Sights: TRUGLO Tritium Pro night sights (CS, CDP, TLE, Raptor, and standard variants); white-dot sights on Select models
  • Accessory rail: Integral Picatinny-compatible rail
  • Manual safety: None; internal passive safeties only
  • Magazine capacity: 7+1 standard; two magazines included

Accessory rail and light-compatibility note. The EVO SP has an integral Picatinny-compatible rail on the frame.

However, neither confirmed holster in this collection has been verified as light-bearing for the EVO SP.

If your pistol is equipped with a weapon-mounted light, do not assume either holster will accommodate it. Review each product listing directly before ordering.

Variant differences that may affect fit. All EVO SP variants share the same core dimensions and frame geometry. The primary differences across TLE, CDP, Two-Tone, CS, Select, and Raptor models are finish, grip material, and surface machining detail rather than dimensional changes.

How to Choose the Right Alien Gear Holster for the Kimber EVO SP

At 1.06 inches wide and 18 to 19 oz with an all-metal construction, the EVO SP is one of the slimmest and most concealable metal-frame subcompacts available.

Its compact dimensions make it a natural IWB carry pistol, while the OWB paddle option covers range use and open carry situations. This collection offers two carry configurations, each serving a distinct carry context.

Cloak Tuck 3.5 IWB Holster

The Cloak Tuck 3.5 is the primary daily concealed carry option in this collection. A custom-molded Boltaron polymer shell provides secure retention around the EVO SP's machined aluminum frame and stainless slide, and the CoolVent neoprene backing keeps the holster breathable against the body during extended daily wear.

Adjustable cant and sweat guard positioning let you configure the carry position for strong-side, appendix, or other IWB placements based on your build and routine.

At just 1.06 inches wide, the EVO SP is genuinely slim for a 9mm subcompact with an all-metal frame, and the Cloak Tuck 3.5 is designed to take advantage of that profile.

The carry-melt treatment on all external edges means the pistol enters and exits the holster without the snag points common on less finished subcompacts.

Cloak OWB Paddle Holster

The Cloak OWB Paddle Holster attaches over the belt with a paddle mount and removes without tools. It is the practical choice for range sessions, open carry, and situations where the holster needs to come on and off during the day without threading and rethreading a belt.

A spring-steel flex plate at the core of the holster provides durability and consistent draw geometry while keeping the overall profile minimal and close to the body during active movement.

Carry Styles Supported by This Collection

This collection supports two carry configurations for the Kimber EVO SP:

  • Inside the waistband (IWB) via the Cloak Tuck 3.5
  • Outside the waistband paddle (OWB) via the Cloak OWB Paddle Holster

This collection does not currently include belt, chest, drop leg, or hook and loop carry configurations for the Kimber EVO SP.

If you need one of those carry styles for this pistol, they are not available here and should not be assumed available elsewhere without separate verification.

Common Fit or Selection Mistakes to Avoid

Ordering Expecting a Light-Bearing Configuration

The EVO SP has a Picatinny rail, and compact weapon lights are a natural accessory for this platform. However, neither holster in this collection has been verified as light-bearing for the EVO SP.

Do not select either holster assuming it will clear a rail-mounted light without verifying light-compatibility directly on the product page.

Assuming EVO SP Shells Are Cross-Compatible With Other Kimber Models

The Cloak Shell for Kimber in this collection fits the EVO SP's specific frame profile. Kimber produces multiple platforms including the 1911, Micro 9, Micro 380, and others that have distinct frame geometries.

Shells designated for other Kimber models are not interchangeable with the EVO SP without explicit product-level confirmation of cross-compatibility.

Expecting the Full Range of Carry Styles Available on Other Platforms

This collection covers two carry styles for the EVO SP. Belt, chest, drop leg, and hook and loop configurations are not available in this collection for this specific model.

Do not select a holster from outside this confirmed set based on physical similarity to other Kimber or subcompact 9mm platforms.

Selecting an IWB Holster Without Accounting for All-Metal Weight

At 18 to 19 oz, the EVO SP is heavier than most polymer subcompacts of similar size. For IWB carry, a quality gun belt that supports the pistol's metal-frame weight is essential.

The Cloak Tuck 3.5 distributes that weight across a wider surface area against the body, but the carry system as a whole performs best when paired with a belt rated to support the load.

When This Collection May Not Be the Right Fit

This collection is specific to the Kimber EVO SP. It may not be the right starting point if:

  • You need a belt holster, chest holster, drop leg holster, or hook and loop mounting option for the EVO SP, as none of those carry styles are available in this collection for this model
  • Your EVO SP carries a rail-mounted light and you need a confirmed light-bearing holster, as light compatibility for the EVO SP has not been verified on either product in this collection
  • Your pistol is a different Kimber model, including the Micro 9, Micro 380, or any 1911-pattern Kimber, which have distinct frame profiles and require their own shell designations
  • You need a shoulder holster or ankle holster, as neither carry style is available in this collection for the Kimber EVO SP
