Comfort Meets Retention Carrying off-body often means compromising retention, with firearms rattling loose in generic pockets. We’ve solved this by designing our Cross-Body Carry Bag  with a Nylex-lined compartment that is optimized for our Hook & Loop Holster (sold separately) for secure retention. Whether you run this as a cross-body or a fanny pack, the extended 55-inch strap and AirMesh back panel provide superior airflow and a custom fit.

Reinforced Structure: Impact-resistant foam maintains the bag's shape for a snag-free draw.

Total Discretion: A slim profile and side-mounted buckle reduce "printing" and improve ergonomics.

Tactical Organization: Separate zippered compartments keep your EDC items (keys, phone) away from your firearm.

DRYOUT® Active Moisture-Removal Technology™: helps reduce moisture-related risk for firearms and essential carried gear.

  • DRYOUT is engineered into the interior of the bag to work automatically during carry, helping remove visible and unseen moisture from firearms and gear carried inside the pouch — regardless of carry configuration.
  • DRYOUT actively pulls moisture away from gear, traps it in a high-capacity absorbent core, and releases it when reset using sunlight, controlled heat, or airflow. No electricity is required.
  • DRYOUT supports:
    • Everyday carry, where residual moisture can accumulate over time
    • Recovery after exposure from rain, training, travel, or accidental moisture contact
  • DRYOUT is designed primarily for firearms, magazines, ammunition, and optics, and also supports small electronics such as smartphones, earbuds, and key fobs carried in the bag.
  • DRYOUT reduces moisture-related risk when used as directed. It does not make the bag waterproof or replace proper firearm care.

Features

Dedicated CCW Compartment: Rear compartment features increased depth to accommodate a wider range of firearms and is lined with brushed Nylex for compatibility with hook-backed holsters.

DRYOUT® Technology: Updated divider panel actively manages moisture to protect your firearm from corrosion.

Optimized Concealment: Slim main profile and side-mounted buckle reduce "printing," while the reinforced XPE and Atilon foam structure prevents the bag from sagging or losing shape.

Versatile Carry: Adjustable strap extends up to 55 inches for comfortable transition between crossbody and waist/fanny pack carry.

Organization: Dual zippered compartments keep your EDC gear (keys, phone, wallet) completely separate from your firearm.

All-Day Comfort: Features an AirMesh back panel for enhanced airflow and breathability.

Rugged Construction: Built with heavy-duty webbing, reverse-coil zippers with metal sliders, and Duraflex® hardware.

Alien Gear × DRYOUT — FAQ (Integrated DRYOUT, Daily Carry)

This FAQ applies specifically to Alien
Gear products engineered with integrated DRYOUT
.

DRYOUT is built directly into the bag or carry system and is not removable. This guidance is intended for Alien Gear customers, dealers, and training teams.

CORE CONCEPTS
What is DRYOUT?

DRYOUT is a reusable, electricity-free moisture-removal technology designed to remove unwanted moisture from gear after exposure. In Alien Gear products, DRYOUT is integrated into the bag and works continuously while you carry or store your gear.

Is DRYOUT waterproof?

No. DRYOUT is not a waterproofing material. It does not block or repel water. It is designed to remove moisture from gear after exposure, not to prevent water from entering the bag.

What types of gear does DRYOUT support in Alien Gear bags?

Alien Gear products are primarily designed for firearms and related equipment. Integrated DRYOUT helps manage residual moisture from daily carry, environmental exposure, and temperature changes.

While firearms are the primary focus, DRYOUT can also support small electronics carried in the bag (such as phones or earbuds) by helping reduce residual moisture risk after exposure.

DAILY CARRY & MOISTURE MANAGEMENT
Should I use DRYOUT even if my gear still works?

Yes. Moisture can remain trapped inside gear even if it appears to
function normally. Using DRYOUT as part of a daily carry routine helps reduce long-term moisture-related risk.

How long does DRYOUT take to work for daily carry?

Drying time depends on moisture exposure, gear type, and environmental conditions such as temperature and airflow. DRYOUT removes moisture gradually, not instantly.

Everyday / light moisture exposure

(daily carry, humidity, rain, condensation)

Typical (under moderate conditions): DRYOUT is typically able to pull moisture out of gear within 3–6 hours.

  • Recommended minimum (best practice):
Warmer conditions (70°F / 21°C and above): allow at least 4 hours
Cooler conditions (50–70°F / 10–21°C): allow at least 7 hours

Even if gear appears dry or functional, allowing the full recommended time helps remove hidden internal moisture.

What about heavy moisture exposure?

For heavier exposure such as soaking or significant water intrusion:

Typical (under moderate conditions):

DRYOUT typically pulls moisture out of gear within 6–9 hours.

  • Recommended minimum (best practice):
Warmer conditions (70°F+): allow at least 7 hours
Cooler conditions (50–70°F): allow at least 10 hours

Extended drying time is recommended even if external surfaces appear dry or gear functions normally.

RESETTING INTEGRATED DRYOUT
Is DRYOUT reusable in Alien Gear products?

Yes. DRYOUT is designed to be reset for repeated use.

How do I reset DRYOUT in an Alien Gear bag?

Because DRYOUT is integrated and not removable, resetting is
done by emptying and opening the bag, allowing DRYOUT inside to be exposed.

Reset using three simple steps:

  1. Empty — Remove all gear from the bag
  2. Expose — Open the bag so DRYOUT is exposed to sunlight, controlled
    warmth, or airflow
  3. Dry — Allow sufficient time based on temperature and reset method
How long does it take to reset integrated DRYOUT?
  • Recommended minimum reset times:
Warmer conditions (70°F / 21°C and above): At least 3 hours using sunlight or controlled warmth .At least 6 hours using airflow only.
  • Cooler conditions (50–70°F / 10–21°C): At least 4 hours using sunlight or controlled warmth. At least 12 hours using airflow only

Below 50°F (10°C), moisture release slows. If exposed to freezing
temperatures, DRYOUT will not reset until it warms above freezing.

Avoid excessive heat. Temperatures should not exceed 200°F (93°C).

  • How often should I reset DRYOUT for daily carry?
Reset DRYOUT after the bag has been used to dry gear following moisture exposure.
  • For frequent daily carry, resetting every 4–6 weeks
    is a good general practice.

If the bag is stored closed for extended periods without exposure,
frequent resetting is typically not required. Reset DRYOUT when the bag is opened after long storage, moisture exposure occurs, or storage conditions change.

SAFETY & USE BOUNDARIES
Can I use DRYOUT while my electronic device is powered on?

No. Electronics should remain powered off while moisture is being removed.

Can DRYOUT be worn against the body for sweat management?

No. DRYOUT is designed to protect gear,
not to manage perspiration or body heat. It has limited breathability by design and is not intended for body-contact applications.

What should I do if my gear was exposed to saltwater or chemicals?

Rinse gear with fresh water as soon as possible to remove residues before using DRYOUT.

REGULATORY & DISPOSAL
Are there any regulatory or safety concerns?

Integrated DRYOUT does not contain hazardous materials, does not require special handling, and is evaluated for applicable regulatory compliance, including California Proposition 65 where required.

How should DRYOUT be disposed of at end of life?

DRYOUT is not designed for curbside recycling due to its composite construction. At end of life, follow local waste-disposal guidelines.
