Glock -17 Rapid Force Duty Holster

Please note: Due to high order volume, this item will ship in 4-8 weeks. Thank you for your patience.

The Rapid Force Glock 17 Duty Holster combines lightweight, rigid construction with a more intuitive retention system. No other duty holster carries as easily nor functions as easily with the same security level. Take one for a field test, and you'll see the Rapid Force difference in action.

We surveyed dozens of agencies, hundreds of law enforcement officers and military personnel to learn what they wanted in a Glock 17 police holster. Their feedback resulted in the creation of the Rapid Force system.

The holster itself is injection-molded, using a lightweight but high-strength polymer blend that stands up to abrasion as well as the elements. Your choice of belt attachment can be deployed with or without a quick-release system.

The retention system is modular, configurable to your desires in a Glock 17 retention holster. Both Level II and Level III retention levels are available on the Rapid Force, with the Gross Motor Response retention system.

The Gross Motor Response control unit is placed on the inward side of the holster, between the belt attachment and the holster itself. You gain access to it while acquiring a firing grip on the pistol. Level II retention comes from a locking backstrap, actuated by a push-button thumb release. Level III retention is added in the form of an ejection port locking wedge.

A button guard is also included, acting as a guide rail for the user and preventing any unwanted access.

To operate the holster, push down with the shooting hand thumb, releasing the backstrap, and pull back on the thumb swipe lever, releasing the ejection port lock. This frees the pistol and ensures a proper grip coming out of the holster.

The holster can be ordered for pistols with or without weapon-mounted light capabilities, and with or without an RDS. If ordered as a Glock 17 red dot holster, an RDS sight hood is mounted to the backstrap with a protective flap to protect the optic while carrying.

The holster comes with one of three available belt attachments, for low-, mid- and high-ride applications. The belt attachments are jacket-style belt slides, which can be clamped to the duty belt, used as a belt slide or used with MOLLE webbing if desired.

Good Holster. But......! Review by CJ

This holster was purchased at the beginning of 2020. It has been a good duty holster but I have found flaws. Like in another review there are exposed threads on the screws for the belt loops. It has also caused slide rub on the left side of my glock. These are things I can work around though. The holster still looks great and functions well. My main complaint is that this holster is advertised to be capable of switching to several different platforms which is why I bought it. This was my deciding factor when I purchased this holster and we all know there are other options out there but I choose to give alien gear my business. With that being said I've reached out several times for a time frame on accessories and have been met with no real answer. Due to my job functions now I have to spend more money to buy a new holster to fit my other job needs. Good duty holster but not what they made it out to look like in their video. Don't advertise it to do something that you have not yet produced or have no time frame on providing on what was advertised. (Posted on 9/23/2020)

Low mounted duty holster Review by james

got this holster a few months back for my glock 17. first look it seems large but simple and secure. very glad they included different size levers and thumb buttons. after some use it still seems incredibly bulky and the mount for the belt is very loose even when tightened all the way. this was my fault for ordering the low mount but it is very unstable and insecure (at the belt) due to how low it is compared to the belt. hand gun is very secure and fist perfectly into the holster. level 3 retention is extremely easy to use for the shooter and feels much safer than level 2. overall glad i own the holster but could use some improvements at the end of the day. Rapid Force Duty Holster didn't disappoint... Review by Mark

I was a little upset when my order didn't ship at the expected time. I contacted customer service via the chat feature and was told I would have to wait a few more months due to a backlog in production. I then called customer service to speak to someone and learned there was a tweak in the design for safety purposes. The customer service agent was very helpful. My order was sped up and I received my holster about a week later.
Well, this week my department had qualifications and the holster worked like a champ with very little carry time or practice. It was worth the wait and I highly recommend the holster. The only thing I need to work on is re-holstering. I run a light and the first holster was a hand me down from a partner. I'm glad I made the switch.
I look forward to carrying this for the foreseeable future. (Posted on 8/27/2020)

Great rig for MRDS! Review by JayF

Using mine for work with G-17 Gen4 MOS with Trijicon RMR. After a little tweaking/tuning, the holster works very smooth! As they promise, moving down onto the Glock in this holster drives me to the correct grip, getting my thumb web where it belongs as I hit the deep thumb button/retract MRDS hood. As I draw out and trip the small retention lever, the grip completes and I end up very consistent. The construction materials are durable and mark things up a little more than kydex does, but I can live with that since it's gonna last far longer than a kydex holster for the investment. Just wish I had the foresight to have ordered one to accommodate tac light...agency just gave me one :) (Posted on 6/5/2020)

Recieved today (4/8/2020) and I'm already in love. It's everything I love about the competition's duty rig redesigned for better gross motor skill deployment. Not to mention, SIGNIFICANTLY more comfortable.

Only one complaint. The thumb release for the hood is pretty slick. $0.30 worth of no skid tape later, and now it's perfect.

I would highly recommend that AG consider adding some texturing to the thumbs, but even without it, this is a truly EXCELLENT carry option. (Posted on 4/8/2020)
Great holster but could use some improvements Review by Matt

I got the holster as a replacement for my previous duty holster. I was very impressed right out of the box with how solid the holster is. Seems to be very well built and molded to fit my Glock perfectly.

I did, however, see a few small shortcomings with the holster. The threads of the screws that secure the straps to the duty belt are exposed after installation. One, it cosmetically doesn't look good to have exposed threads like that and two it's a sharp point sticking out of the holster. I did file it down so it's not as obvious but I have to hope that I don't need to take this off my belt.

The other item I found disappointing was the lack of any scratch protection for my Glock. I'm finding that the holster is wearing away the coating on my slide, both the top and sides.

Otherwise I think it's a great holster. I like the quick release hood and easy thumb release. I did find that I had to adjust my duty belt because if anything is in the way of allowing the hood to move forward I could potentially have my Glock stuck in the holster. (Posted on 3/30/2020)
Competitors beware Review by SH

I have received this holster and have started using it. Thanks to the Gross Motor Response draw on this holster, I am as fast drawing from this holster as I am with the one I had been using.

The adjustment of the cant on the holster was great. Instead of taking the belt attachment completely off like you have to with the competitors you only need to remove two screws and loosen the third which makes it easier to reattach. The adjustable thumb release setup allows for different size hands rather than the on size fits most on other holsters. One pro of the Rapid Force is the hood. On the Rapid Force the hood clicks back into place without having to manipulate a lever.

All in all, competitors better beware. There is a new competitor in town!!! (Posted on 3/27/2020)
